13th February 2026 Extraordinary Meeting

Dear Councillors,

You are hereby summoned to attend an Extraordinary Meeting of Mareham le Fen Parish Council which will be held on FRIDAY 13th February 2026 commencing at 4.00pm at Mareham le Fen Community Centre. Parish Council business must be conducted in public (except for items deemed to be confidential and not in the public interest) but it is not a public meeting.  Items to be discussed are shown in the agenda.  If members of the public are present they will be given a period of up to 10 minutes to make any representations or ask questions as part of the agenda.

If you cannot attend the meeting, please send your apologies to the Clerk with reasons.

Note: Any Councillor with council tax unpaid for more than two months is prohibited from voting on the budget or precept by Section 106 of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 and must disclose at the start of the meeting that Section 106 applies to them.

AGENDA 

1. Election of a Councillor to preside/ Chair the business of this extraordinary meeting

2.  Apologies for absence with reason given

 

3.  Declaration of Members’ interests in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and requests for dispensations (Disclosure by all members present of disclosable pecuniary interests in matters on the agenda that have not already been declared on their Declarations of Interests form. Councillors may not take part or vote on items they have a pecuniary interest in unless granted a dispensation. Requests for a dispensation should be sent to The Clerk by email or at the start of the meeting).

 

4. If members of the public are present and wish to ask questions or make representations the Chair/Presiding member will allow this for a period of up to 10 minutes. 

 

5. To consider the budget for 2026-27 financial year.

 

6. To consider the precept for 2026-27 financial year.

 

7. To consider any applicants for co-option to the parish council following the Co-option Policy and Procedure.  The Council may resolve to go into a private confidential session in accordance with the Policy and Procedure if necessary.  (On appointment co-optees to sign the Declaration of Acceptance of Office or, if unable to sign at this meeting, the Parish Council is to set a date by which the Declaration of Acceptance is to be signed.)
