Dear Councillors,
You are hereby summoned to attend the next ordinary meeting of Mareham le Fen Parish Council which will be held on TUESDAY 27th January 2026 commencing at 7.15pm at Mareham le Fen Community Centre with a public participation period starting after the start of the meeting. Parish Council business must be conducted in public (except for items deemed to be confidential and not in the public interest) but it is not a public meeting. Items to be discussed are shown in the agenda.
If you cannot attend the meeting, please send your apologies to the Clerk with reasons.
Note: Any Councillor with council tax unpaid for more than two months is prohibited from voting on the budget or precept by Section 106 of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 and must disclose at the start of the meeting that Section 106 applies to them.
PRESS AND PUBLIC WELCOME. There will be a public participation period at this meeting starting shortly after 7.15pm. Parishioners may ask questions or raise issues of local interest with the parish council for up to 15 minutes. The chair of the meeting may limit the amount of time that each person may speak. The formal Council business will commence at the end of the public forum. Members of the public may not speak during the Parish Council meeting unless the Chair of the meeting allows this.

AGENDA
1. Election of Chair of Mareham le Fen Parish Council and signing of the Declaration of Acceptance of Officer (to serve until the 2026 Annual Parish Council meeting.)
2. Election of Vice Chair of Mareham le Fen Parish Council.
The Parish Council meeting will be suspended by the Chair to allow for a period of public participation of up to 15 minutes before the Chair re-opens the meeting for Council business to be considered. If no members of the public are present or public participation is completed earlier than 15 minutes then the meeting will restart.

Declaration of Members’ interests in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and requests for dispensations (Disclosure by all members present of disclosable pecuniary interests in matters on the agenda that have not already been declared on their Declarations of Interests form. Councillors may not take part or vote on items they have a pecuniary interest in unless granted a dispensation. Requests for a dispensation should be sent to The Clerk by email or at the start of the meeting).
5. To receive the draft minutes to be approved as the minutes of the meeting held on 25th June 2025 and 15th October 2025 Finance and General Purposes Committee.
6. Matters arising from the minutes of 25th June and 15th October and Clerk’s updates not already on this agenda.
7. ELDC and LCC councillors invited by the Chair to make verbal or written reports on local matters.
8. To adopt the Council’s Standing Orders and the Financial Regulations.
